CONTOURS
This large-scale sound installation celebrated the Viking and Anglo-Saxon culture, heritage, and landscape of North East England. Situated in a rural field beneath Roseberry Topping, it wove poetry, riddles, and purpose-built instruments, including a 10th-century reproduction lyre and bone flutes. Featuring recordings of volunteers in seven languages, the work evoked the memories, linguistic heritage, and cultural richness of the region as echoes from the autumn landscape.
